My name is Maureen and I am the sole operator of Aroha Touch, located at 1200 Hinemoa Street, Rotorua 3010.

I have over 7 years of experience in the field of Māori traditional Massage (Romiromi), however is not limited to just Traditional Massage. I also sell Wellness Products with Traditional Māori ingredients online, or at my clinic.

Maureen is trained, and mentored by Wikitoria Oman since 2017. Maureen is rejoining Wikitoria Oman as Kaiawhina in training others in romiromi, poluticing and hapu tangata (pregnancy massage).

I am a dedicated Rongoā trainee assistant here at Aroha Touch.

I'm very passionate about traditional Māori healing. I'm currently studying to become a skilled practitioner, offering romiromi, rongoā, and other holistic massage services.

My goal is to provide natural health solutions that nurture tinana (body), hinengaro (mind), and wairua (spirit).

I'm committed to supporting others on their healing paths with compassion and care.

I am currently assisting Aroha Touch with bookings alongside of my training.

ROMIROMI

Romiromi is a healing art of ancient traditional Māori bodywork based on universal principles.

Romiromi involves deep bodywork to help align the body, release or unblock deeply-held tension and restore function. We facilitate techniques by applying pressure on the haemata (specific body points) for aligning the spine and joints, incorporating an ancient Karakia called kaupare and counselling.

Additionally, tools such as kōhatu (stones) are utilized and the muscles, tissues, blood, bone and fluids are worked on through agitation using hands, feet, elbows, and body weight.

Our traditional Maori bodywork deeply affects the central nervous system on a cellular level, revitalizing all bodily systems to facilitate a return to a more harmonious state of being.

Romiromi provides a life-changing and grounding experience.

1-hour sessions include:

Initial consultation (whakawhanaungatanga)
Facilitate the release of tension
For the client to commit to making changes in their life

In order to qualify for an ACC-funded session, please contact ACC on 0800-222-435 requesting Rongoa Maori.

If approved quote my number VBH856 for Rongoa Maori treatment; be it a sensitive claim, a physical injury or a severe injury claim. ACC will send a purchase order once your application is approved.
